The Rapid Format course is essentially the final week of the standard course. We offer this as a practical method to quickly integrate experienced paddlers into the NPF Training Framework by delivering Teknikurs and Aktivitetslederkurs (Norwegian Equivalent of EPP3 + EPP4) in a single training program. As many of the participants are tourism professionals, the course includes additional skills needed to operate commercial tours in a cold water environment.

This course is for strong intermediate paddlers and *NPF have mandated the Grunkurs as a pre-requisite. If you're unsure what that entails, or you have received some training in another country, or you have never had formal training: get in touch, we will ask you about your skills and experience ,then make a training plan that suits your needs.

Skills you will learn

  • Advanced personal paddling skills

  • Cold water safety

  • Wave and tide theory

  • Navigation and trip planning

  • Commercial rescue techniques

  • Professional instructing methods

Expedition Endorsement

Mentoring Program - For previous participants of the Commercial Guide & Instructor Course

No Tuition Fee

Many guides in the start of their career struggle to build up experience running multi-day trips. The Expedition Endorsement

We invite two past graduates to plan and lead the expedition during week two of the Guide Course. With your co-guide you will research, plan and lead the trip. An AKG Mentor will make regular check-ins during the planing phase, observe your departure, act as your onshore contact and will de-brief you after the expedition.
